last day of January in the Church commemorates St. John Bosco, founder of the Salesian Congregation and a great educator of youth. He was a priest, who overtook his ideas pastoral era. His commitment and number of initiatives to this day astounds many. Don Bosco in education apply their own - the original, for those times, solutions that are defined by himself as a preventive system (uprzedzającego). Model solutions as applied in the establishment of Turin have been implemented by the Salesians in factories in Italy, and later in other European countries and missionary. In 1892 they came to Earth Salesians founded the first Polish factory at Piastowe.
came to his work in extremely difficult political circumstances. In the era of unification of the Italian state was pervasive attitude hostile to the Church and the Papacy. His attitude showed What should be an honest dialogue between the State and the Church. Throughout his life he remained faithful to the principle that the Church can not permit that embroiled him in a party or political direction. Such a position advocated spiritual dignitaries as representatives of the Church. Also advocated the active involvement of Catholics in political life, because like everyone else are citizens and have the right and obligation to participate in public life. The task of the Church in these difficult times, being seen in the refuge of public and private life, family, society and state by that it proclaims to all the rights established in the eternal truth revealed.
Don Bosco, as he used to say, pursued a policy of "Our Father" and she brought him success. Gentleness, goodness and prudence, and above all, testimony to the dedication to the cause of education of poor young people to make it a "good Christians and upright citizens," he could get to the heart of its activities, even the greatest enemies of the Church. He founded the religious congregations at the time when others had to face many difficulties and were often eliminated. In the years 1867-1978 he was the mediator in negotiations between the anticlerical Italian government and the Holy See, resulting in, among others, contributed to fill 40 vacant diocesan capitals. He was utterly devoted to the Holy Father. For his spiritual sons, the Salesians would say, "Be deeply convinced of the importance of this truth: where is the successor of Saint Peter, there is the true Church of Christ. No one professes the true religion, if it is not Catholic. No one also is not a Catholic without the pope. (...) That faith could be alive and fruitful, must be explained by the Vicar of Christ. Especially in our times have people gather around the Pope, see it as St. Peter and explain its importance to people. "
Don Bosco was also a builder of temples, writer and publisher of books, especially for young people and uneducated people, which undertook and presented in a manner accessible to difficult issues in the field of religious, moral, ascetic, and historical. The activities in this field began with the issue of the lives of the saints, and biographies popes. Then came the Catholic Reading for each month. He was also the founder of the magazine about religion. Since 1877, all friends of his works began to issue monthly "Salesian Bulletin", which today is published in several languages. In Poland it is present since 1897 and now bears the title "Don Bosco Salesian Magazine." By means of the then attempted to ground truth contained in the catechism teachings of the Church, struggled with rampant modernism, the philosophy of the Enlightenment, Protestantism and Freemasonry. Ministry evangelization through the media has made one of the main planes of the Salesian presence in the Church's mission.
Prester John Bosco died on 31 Jan 1888 in Turin. He was beatified (2 Jun 1929) and canonized (1 Jun 1934) by Pope Pius XI, who described him as the spiritual giant.
Even after such a cursory presentation of the achievements of St Just. John Bosco, you can without worrying about the risk of error, stated that he is the ideal guide for the twenty-first century Christians. In the historical sense, still live in the same an age in which St. John Bosco came to serve the Church. The problems they have to face today, believers are still the same. Atheizing systematic secularization and social life rooted in the philosophy of the Enlightenment, modernism, ecumenism falsely understood, relentless struggle with religion, anti-Christian tradition and morality takes place before our eyes. With our patron saint, today we need to stand alongside the Peter of our times, and Pope Benedict XVI go on Crusade to the twenty-first century European Union countries preaching witness attachment to the Church's catechetical teachings of God's love. Staring at the figure of Fr. Bosco, we see the need for a conscious and creative engagement in social life. Let, therefore, from the sky surrounds us his intercession!
